Apple iPhone is out!
Yes it is, and we got all the fine details: iPhone combines three products — a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching — into one small and lightweight handheld device. iPhone also introduces an entirely new user interface based on a large multi-touch display and pioneering new software, letting you control everything with just your fingers. So it ushers in an era of software power and sophistication never before seen in a mobile device, completely redefining what you can do on a mobile phone. iPhone is a widescreen iPod with touch controls that lets you enjoy all your content — including music, audiobooks, videos, TV shows, and movies — on a beautiful 3.5-inch widescreen display. It also lets you sync your content from the iTunes library on your PC or Mac. And then you can access it all with just the touch of a finger. iPhone is a revolutionary new mobile phone that allows you to make a call by simply pointing your finger at a name or number in your address book, a favorites list, or a call log. It also automatically syncs all your contacts from a PC, Mac, or Internet service. And it lets you select and listen to voicemail messages in whatever order you want — just like email. iPhone features a rich HTML email client and Safari — the most advanced web browser ever on a portable device — which automatically syncs bookmarks from your PC or Mac. Safari also includes built-in Google and Yahoo! search. iPhone is fully multi-tasking, so you can read a web page while downloading your email in the background over Wi-Fi or EDGE. Wireless iPhone uses quad-band GSM, the global standard for wireless communications. It also supports Cingular’s EDGE network, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, which links to Apple’s new, remarkably compact Bluetooth headset. Built-in Advanced Sensors iPhone’s accelerometer detects when you rotate the device from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display, so you immediately see the entire width of a web page or a photo in its proper landscape aspect ratio. The proximity sensor detects when you lift iPhone to your ear and immediately turns off the display to save power and prevent inadvertent touches until iPhone is moved away. An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the display’s brightness to the appropriate level for the current ambient light, thereby enhancing the user experience and saving power at the same time. OS X All the power and sophistication of the world’s most advanced operating system — OS X — is now available on a small, handheld device that gives you access to true desktop-class applications and software, including rich HTML email, full-featured web browsing, and applications such as widgets, Safari, calendar, text messaging, Notes, and Address Book. iPhone is fully multi-tasking, so you can read a web page while downloading your email in the background. This software completely redefines what you can do with a mobile phone. Technical Specifications Screen size 3.5 inches Screen resolution 320 by 480 at 160 ppi Input method Multi-touch Operating system OS X Storage 4GB or 8GB GSM Quad-band (MHz: 850, 900, 1800, 1900) Wireless data Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) + EDGE + Bluetooth 2.0 Camera 2.0 megapixels Battery * Up to 5 hours Talk / Video / Browsing * Up to 16 hours Audio playback Dimensions 4.5 x 2.4 x 0.46 inches / 115 x 61 x 11.6mm Weight 4.8 ounces / 135 grams

Nokia CA-100 USB Charger
After years and years of waiting, it looks like we'll finally get a chance to charge our phones with official Nokia USB charger. Sure I know there are numerous available 3rd party USB chargers but also I know that it isn’t very suggestible to use 3rd party chargers at all. You see, the 3rd party chargers are usually more generic (for ease of production and re-badging for different units mainly) while official chargers deliver a very specific current and voltage, optimized for longer battery life.. This piece of accessory, allows you to charge your mobile directly from your PC, save on having to carry bulky mains chargers or worry about available power supplies. Simply plug the USB Charger Lead into any PC or Apple Mac with a USB socket and plug into your phone for charging on the go. Perfect for when your phone is hooked up to your computer or you're at your desk! There's nothing worse than arriving at the office, and finding that your mobile phone battery is almost totally empty, and having to go the whole day in a state of communication meltdown. Now all this is the thing of the past with the aid of this USB phone charger that refuels your phone from any computer. You don’t even need to find a power socket as any computer will do It's also very good solution when you go away on a business trip or holidays, as it is a lot less bulky than a standard mobile phone charger, and works with any desktop computer or laptop.

Carbon Fiber iPhone Mockup
This is a carbon fiber iPhone mockup that I normally wouldn't care about, but this one comes with a humorous story. Supposedly, Apple will be developing a special edition carbon fiber iPhone called the Carbon Electra X Apple iPhone. It will be limited to 200 units and be given away in the Oscars goodie bags. This is where the story gets iPhoney, but kind of funny. In addition to the beautiful carbon fiber case, the phone will come pre-loaded with every M.O.P. song ever produced, every episode of Mythbusters and Rosario Dawson's cell number. There is also a custom software installed, approved by the FAA, that allows you to use your phone while on board any commercial airplane. Who the hell is M.O.P? Regardless, it will also (not) be available for $700, 11-percent of which will be donated to the International TonTon Preservation Fund. –Travis Hudson UPDATE: ENOUGH with the email. You know this isn't real, yes?

Top Five Reasons Why the iPhone Sucks
With all the adoring praise being heaped on Apple's iPhone, it's about time someone starting noticing its flaws. Newlaunches has its list of gripes here; ours is forthcoming. Top five shortcomings of the iPhone according to Newlaunches: 1. 2-megapixel camera when others have 5-megapixel shooters on board 2. 5-hour talk time: not enough battery life 3. No expansion slot. Go for the 8-gig model and that's it. 4. No 3G: EDGE is so last year 5. No removable battery: You mean we can't take along a spare battery? WTF? Stay tuned for our take from the BlamzModo, one of the few/the proud who have actually manhandled the thing. – Charlie White

Motorola RIZR Z6 announced
At CES 2007 Las Vegas Motorola joined the gang and presented the successor of the popular RIZR Z3 - the MOTORIZR Z6. The new slider is part of the new MOTOMUSIC platform and comes along with the updated EDGE version of the Motorola MING A1200 model. It seems that Motorola would keep their marketing strategy of producing slightly updated version to their existing handsets instead of making entirely new mobiles from scratch. The prospects of a new group of music-oriented devices sounds exciting since this is the current trend on the market and Motorola didn't have such mobiles up until now. The Motorola RIZR Z6 will run on a new Linux-Java-based user interface and promises enhanced music experience featuring connectivity with Windows Media Player 11 and supporting Janus DRM. It will have the same design as its predecessor RIZR Z3 with almost the same size but it will weigh 10 g less. The new RIZR Z6 will have an improved display - this time with QVGA resolution, but it will retain the 2 megapixel camera of the predecessor. We hope that there would be some improvement in the camera quality department too since the RIZR Z3 deserved some criticism along that line of functionality. The MOTORIZR Z6 is expected to be available in the first half of 2007.
